Giving Tuesday
With the holiday season upon us, this is the time of year we like to reflect on our ability to give. We are so grateful for the men and women of the Boston Fire Department who put their lives on the line every day to protect us.
The Relief Fund has several programs designed to support members of the Department. These programs include a Scholarship Program for aspiring students of Boston firefighters looking to further their education, a Member Assistance Program which is a reliable source that members can turn to for financial support during a time of hardship, funding the Annual Ball and Awards Ceremony of the Boston Fire Department to honor the bravery and dedication of the men and women of the Department and award them for their heroic efforts throughout the year, and finally, the funding of a Cancer Screening Initiative to help increase early detection of cancer and cardiovascular health concerns specific to firefighters.
The work that the Relief Fund has done has made a staggering impact on the department. Since 2011, the Relief Fund has donated over $724,615 back to the members of the Department through its various initiatives.
Please consider donating on this Giving Tuesday and help us “Put Out Cancer” in the Boston Fire Department!
